Letting Go Of Worry (Daily Devo 02/27)
Isaiah 26:3 (KJV)
“Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on thee: because he trusteth in thee.”
Worry sneaks in when we start believing we are responsible for everything. We think about the future, our finances, our relationships, and all the uncertainties of life. We want to fix, control, and plan for everything, but deep down, we know we can’t. But God never asked us to carry life’s burdens alone. He calls us to trust Him, not just in the good times but especially in the times when we feel weak, uncertain, or afraid.
Worry comes from the illusion of control. We forget why we need God, and so He allows us to be reminded, through circumstances, struggles, and even our own limitations. Worry is a signal that we’ve forgotten who holds our future.
God doesn’t let you struggle to hurt you; He lets you struggle to remind you He’s the one who carries you.
When things are going well, it’s easy to forget our dependence on God. We slip into self-reliance, believing we have everything figured out. But when uncertainty arises, we start to panic. Jesus told us not to worry because our Heavenly Father already knows what we need. Yet, God allows seasons of struggle not to punish us, but to bring us back to Him.
Perfect peace comes from keeping our minds on God. When we forget who He is, we sink into fear. But when we fix our thoughts on Him, we remember that He is in control. He has always provided. He has never failed us.
God isn’t waiting for you to solve your problems. He’s waiting for you to surrender them.
He lets us feel weak so we remember He is strong. I hope we can truly reflect on when we met God in our lives. All of us met Him when we were broken. Amen!
