2 Timothy 1:9-10

⁹ Who hath saved us, and called us with an holy calling, not according to our works, but according to his own purpose and grace, which was given us in Christ Jesus before the world began,

¹⁰ But is now made manifest by the appearing of our Saviour Jesus Christ, who hath abolished death, and hath brought life and immortality to light through the gospel:

We are saved by grace through faith alone. We should never add our works into the holy calling. God tells us that he alone has saved us, called us in holiness, and gave us Jesus before the world started.

Jesus through his eternal sacrifice abolished death! We no longer have to fear death because he has brought us eternal life. 

We have receive hope and light through the gospel. Amen!
