Romans 5:6-8
6 For when we were yet without strength, in due time Christ died for the ungodly.
7 For scarcely for a righteous man will one die: yet peradventure for a good man some would even dare to die.
8 But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.
Many "Christians" think we need to be perfect before meeting God. These verses tell us however that Jesus was sent for us even in our disobedience. When we were weak and ungodly, Christ died for us.
God is so merciful, it's truly hard to understand it. We are so undeserving of his love yet he pours it out graciously.
Christ came for the sinners, not the upright, self-righteous people. I remember in the 5th grade I had a teacher named Ms. Soto. I was such a bad kid in her math class and I would constantly distract the other kids.
I was the class clown and never cared about my grades.
Ms. Soto truly went out her way to help me. She told me "I cannot let you fail Johnny, you are precious! I am here to help you in anyway I can, even if you don't care. I care".
I remember feeling shocked and unfamiliar, I didn't realize the love she had for the students.
I will always remember the love and kindness she showed me.
In the same way, Christ died for us while we were still failing in sin, showing us unconditional love and grace.
Being ungodly isn't an issue to the almighty God. Amen? He can heal every trauma, wound, short-coming, or sin. This is the very reason why he sent his only begotten son. He wanted us to believe in him and his holiness.
We do not need to try and stop being ungodly. Let's believe that God has already made us holy through Jesus. Amen!
