Galatians 5:4 (KJV)
"Christ is become of no effect unto you, whosoever of you are justified by the law; ye are fallen from grace."
There is one thing we must recognize as believers. That is the fact that the law cannot save us. Our own dilligence, obedience, self righteousness, and determination can never get us into heaven. The law highlights our inability to achieve perfection by showing our imperfections.
Christ came to fulfill the law and to offer us a new path to righteousness through His grace. If you try to achieve justification through the law, you nullify Jesus' sacrifice and this is called falling from grace.
Grace is a gift, unearned and undeserved, given through faith in Jesus Christ.
When we try to earn our salvation through our own efforts, we reject the very essence of this grace.
Let us embrace the freedom that comes from living in God’s grace rather than being bound by the law. To live in grace means to accept that our salvation is a gift from God, not something we can earn. It means trusting in Christ’s finished work on the cross rather than our ability to follow rules. Grace empowers us to live righteously, not out of obligation, but out of love and gratitude for what Jesus has done for us.
Grace frees us from the impossible standard of the law. It transforms our hearts and motivates us to live in a way that honors God. His love brings obedience through the thankfullness for that grace. It shifts us from legalism to grace and gives us a completely new outlook on spiritual life. Christ’s sacrifice is sufficient, and through Him, you are justified and made righteous.
I hope we all can let go of the need to justify ourselves through the law, and find freedom and joy in the finished work of Christ. Amen!
