Psalm 118:8 (KJV)

"It is better to trust in the Lord than to put confidence in man."

Trust is a fundamental part of human relationships. We often rely on our family, friends, and colleagues to support us, guide us, and be there in times of need. We've all trusted someone dear to us and even the most trustworth people have failed us. We've felt that pain of isolation and betrayal.

This verse is teaching us that people are fallible, and their ability to be there for us can be limited by their own imperfections.

This verse emphasizes the importance of placing all of our trust in God rather than in people. Unlike humans, God is perfectly faithful, unchanging, and always reliable. He never fails or disappoints. He is omniscient, omnipotent, and omnipresent. Trusting in God means believing that He knows what is best for us, even when we cannot see it ourselves. His plans for us are good, designed to give us hope and a future. 

Many of us want to live for our spouses, ourselves, or our children but God wants us to unite our hearts with him. This means to live a spiritual life preaching the gospel. Spiritual life leads us to only trust and lean on God. 

The promise in Psalm 118:8 is that when we trust in God and acknowledge Him in all our ways, He will guide us and provide for us.

I want you guys to reflect today on areas in your life where you have placed your trust in people rather than in God. Are there situations where you are relying on your own understanding instead of seeking God’s wisdom? Do you want to live a spiritual life or are you living just to impress people and establish yourself? These are very important points of self-reflection and spiritual awareness. It's not to bring condemnation. I'm asking you guys to do this so that we can live spiritually in front of God. Please ask God to help you align with his heart and live not for man if you are struggling. It starts with acknowledgement and then application comes through the grace of God.
