    Psalm 55:22 (KJV)

22 Cast thy burden upon the Lord, and he shall sustain thee: he shall never suffer the righteous to be moved.

Psalm 55:22 is a powerful reminder of God's promise to care for His children. God knows that we often carry burdens—worries, fears, anxieties which weigh us down. God is inviting us to release our burdens onto him. He wants to give us peace and reassurance in our hearts. He doesn’t want us to manage our problems on our own. Instead, He invites us to cast them upon Him, trusting that He will sustain us.

Many of us hold onto our burdens, trying to manage them in our own strength. We believe that if we work harder, worry more, or strategize better, we can somehow control our lives. But this leads to anxiety, depression, and overwhelming loneliness. Why? Because we are imperfect people trying to produce the perfect results that only God can produce.

We are not equipped to handle the weight of our burdens on our own.

When we choose to cast our burdens on the Lord, He promises to sustain us. This means He provides the strength, peace, and support to overcome all obstacles. God doesn’t just help us once but continually upholds us as we trust in Him. That is why the verses says "he shall SUSTAIN thee".

The verse goes on to say, "he shall never suffer the righteous to be moved." This word "never" is profound. It means that God will not allow us to be shaken or removed from His care. Our salvation is secure in Christ, and nothing can separate us from His love. Jesus suffered on the cross so that we wouldn’t have to bear the ultimate burden of our sins. Our sins were cast upon Him, and through His sacrifice, we have been given eternal life. This promise assures us that we can never lose our salvation.

When we fully grasp that Jesus has already carried the weight of our sins and burdens, we find true freedom.

The struggles we face—whether they be anxiety, depression, or loneliness—are often rooted in our attempts to manage our imperfect lives without fully trusting in God.

But when we believe in the finished work of Christ and recognize that our burdens are already taken care of, we can experience peace and rest.

It’s important to remember that in God’s eyes, we are made perfect through Jesus. Our perfection is not based on our efforts but on the sacrifice of Jesus. When we believe this truth, we can release our burdens, knowing that we are complete and secure in Him.

Reflect on the burdens you’ve been carrying. Are you trying to manage them on your own, or are you casting them onto the Lord?

Jesus was sent to not only carry you sins to the cross, but also your burdens, sicknesses, and all other problems. He nailed us and everything inside of us to the cross already. Satan does the job of making us hold onto the anxiety, depression, and loneliness so that we cannot rest in Jesus.

I hope every single one you can let go of the thoughts that you have these problems and believe that you are already a new creature in him. Amen!
